ZIP Screen Systems for Pergola Applications
A pergola becomes a real outdoor room when its open sides are closed with a side-guided ZIP Screen. As a ZIP Screen Supplier from Türkiye, we integrate these systems into pergola and outdoor structures for trade buyers worldwide.
ZIP Screens as part of the pergola
A pergola ZIP Screen application follows a simple path. The screen is chosen for the structure, mounted on the open side or end, and solves a problem for the buyer, from a pergola company to the architect who specified it.
On a pergola, the most valuable role for a ZIP Screen is the side wall. A pergola roof, whether fixed or a bioclimatic louvre system, covers the top, but the open sides stay exposed to sun, wind and insects. A side-guided ZIP Screen closes those sides, turning an open frame into a usable, weather resistant outdoor room with shade and insect protection.
WorldWideTradeX supplies these systems to trade buyers rather than selling direct to end users. Pergola companies, outdoor structure suppliers, façade and project companies, architects, contractors, installers, distributors and dealers specify the system, and we supply it on export terms as a Turkish ZIP Screen Export & Project Supply partner.

Aluminium pergolas
Modern aluminium pergolas have clean extruded frames and open sides, but the open sides let in sun, wind and insects, so the space underneath is only comfortable for part of the day.
A side-guided ZIP Screen mounts to the aluminium frame on the open sides, closing the structure with a tensioned fabric wall that shades the space and blocks insects while keeping the structure light and open.
Specified by pergola companies and outdoor structure suppliers building aluminium pergola ranges, and by architects and contractors specifying them for projects.

Bioclimatic pergolas
A bioclimatic pergola manages overhead light with its adjustable louvre roof, but the sides stay open, so wind, glare and insects still move through the structure.
A ZIP Screen acts as the side enclosure of a bioclimatic pergola, pairing with the louvre roof to manage light and climate from every side. The result is a fully controllable outdoor room, not just a shaded top.
Specified by pergola companies and specifiers who want a complete climate controlled outdoor structure, often for premium residential and hospitality projects.

Pergola side walls
A pergola structure has an open side. That opening lets in sun, glare, wind and insects, and the space never feels enclosed or calm enough to use as a room.
A ZIP Screen is mounted on the open side as a side-guided enclosure. A tensioned fabric wall drops into side channels, managing shade, glare, insects and privacy, and turning the open side into a usable boundary. See the product level detail on the ZIP Screen page.

Terrace covers and garden pergolas
Garden pergolas and terrace covers shade the top of a seating area but leave the sides exposed to low sun, wind and draughts, so the seating stays uncomfortable.
A ZIP Screen on the open faces of a terrace cover or garden pergola manages the side exposure, extending comfortable use of the seating area through more of the day and season.
Specified by pergola companies and outdoor structure suppliers, and by contractors fitting garden and terrace structures for homes and venues.

Pergola as enclosure
An open pergola is exposed to wind, insects and a lack of privacy, so it cannot be used the way an enclosed room can, especially in busy or overlooking locations.
ZIP Screens around the open sides act as an enclosure, holding back wind, keeping insects out and adding privacy, while still opening fully when the weather is good.
Used by pergola companies and outdoor structure suppliers, and by hospitality and commercial operators who need comfortable outdoor areas.

How each structure is solved
- Aluminium pergola Open sides, sun, wind, insects → Side-guided screen closes the frame
- Bioclimatic pergola Louvre roof, but open sides → ZIP Screen as side enclosure with the roof
- Pergola side wall Open side, no boundary → Side-guided enclosure on the open face
- Terrace cover Side exposure, draughts → Screens on the open faces extend use
- Pergola enclosure Wind, insects, no privacy → Screens hold back wind and add privacy
Match the system to the pergola
Two configurations cover most pergola integrations. The structure and the buyer decide which fits.
Motorized ZIP Screens suit large pergola sides and frequent use, with controls that integrate into the building or structure system and let the sides open and close at the touch of a button.
Vertical ZIP Screens suit slim, downward guided applications on the pergola frame, where a clean side wall manages solar gain and glare while keeping the structure open.

Frequently asked questions
Are ZIP Screens suitable for pergolas?
Yes. A ZIP Screen is often integrated as the glazed or side wall of a pergola, turning an open structure into a usable, weather resistant outdoor room with shade and insect protection.
Can ZIP Screens be installed on a pergola?
Yes. A side-guided ZIP Screen mounts to the pergola frame on the open sides, dropping a tensioned fabric wall into side channels. It closes the structure without changing the look of the frame.
Are ZIP Screens good as a pergola side wall?
Yes. The side wall is one of the most common pergola uses. A ZIP Screen closes the open face of the structure, managing shade, glare, insects and privacy while still opening fully when the weather is good.
Can a ZIP Screen enclose a pergola?
Yes. ZIP Screens around the open sides act as an enclosure, holding back wind, keeping insects out and adding privacy. The sides still retract completely to leave the pergola open.
Are ZIP Screens suitable for bioclimatic pergolas?
Yes. A bioclimatic pergola manages overhead light with its louvre roof, and a ZIP Screen provides the side enclosure, so light and climate are controlled from every side, not just the top.
Can ZIP Screens help with pergola wind and insects?
Yes. The side-guided tension keeps the fabric stable in wind far better than a loose blind, and the closed fabric blocks insects, which makes the pergola comfortable through more of the day.
Are ZIP Screens suitable for outdoor living structures?
Yes. Garden pergolas and terrace covers benefit from ZIP Screens on their open faces, which manage side exposure and extend comfortable use of seating areas.
What are ZIP Screens used for in pergolas?
In pergolas they close the open sides as a side wall, manage shade, glare, wind and insects, and add privacy. The result is a usable outdoor room rather than an open frame.
Can ZIP Screens be used for restaurant or hotel pergolas?
Yes. Hospitality pergolas use ZIP Screens to keep outdoor dining and guest areas comfortable and insect free. For the venue context, see the hospitality and commercial application pages.
